- Have you done a project like mine before? Can I see it?

While every development is different, KPO Global has an extensive catalog of custom applications and will more than likely be able to show you a number of example applications that fit within the realm of your specific development needs. Even though every deployment is different, the skills sets, tools and technologies used to arrive at the solution are quite often very similar and we are more than willing to show you how our past experience will be utilized in your build.

If your particular development is completely outside the scope of anything we've done before rest assured that our in-depth pre-development process includes comprehensive due diligence regarding any new tools and technologies and a complete and comprehensive scope of work will be prepared prior to the development.

- Do you offer a warranty?

Yes! The industry standard warranty on custom developments is 30 days. KPO Global offers a full 90 day warranty on all custom developments at no additional cost. This protects you from issues such as code degeneration and unforeseen development issues relating back to the original SOW.

- What are your core competencies?

KPO Global is a L.A.M.P. Development firm (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) specializing in custom coded, open source developments. We are fully proficient in a number of associated subset competencies such as: Javascript, xHTML, CSS, Flash and .Net.

- How long have you been in business?

KPO Global has been creating custom technology solutions for over five years! The principals of KPO Global have over fifty years combined experience in the realm of business development.

- Do you outsource any or all of your processes?

99% of all of our development is done in-house by our hand picked development team. Very rarely we come across a situation that requires us to bring in an independent contractor or partner development firm in order to best serve our clients.

Even in the very rare occurrence that we employ outside resources all work performed is still done so with the same strict adherence to all security protocol and quality assurance.

- Explain your security policies

KPO Global operates under the strictest confidentiality guidelines regarding client information, intellectual property and proprietary data. Our completely secure locations are under constant video surveillance and all internal servers and networks have the highest feasible security grade.

All employees, contractors and associates operate under a standing non-disclosure agreement.

- Explain your development process

A good development always starts with good pre-development. We are very proud of our pre-development process and hold it to be one of the most effective in the industry. A complete development scope of work, a type of digital blue print, is prepared taking our client's feedback and specific needs into complete consideration.

KPO Global's proprietary Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) was designed with a client centric mentality. Every major development milestone requires client approval prior to commencement. This process helps mitigate risk and ensures that the application we deliver is exactly what you are expecting.

- What is required of me as the client?

The custom development process is much more of a partnership than a contracting agreement. While KPO Global is fully capable of being completely self-sufficient when necessary the client's input is of extremely high value due to the fact that, in almost all applications, the development is tied so closely to your specific business process. Since no one knows your business better than you, we find your input to be of extremely high value!

KPO Global provides content preparation as a service but encourages client's to take part in the content preparation process in order to ensure complete media continuity.

- Do you charge by the hour or by milestone?

Whenever possible, KPO Global charges by the milestone. We encourage and advise our clients (and anyone interested in employing a development firm in any capacity) to opt for milestone billing whenever possible.

We find milestone billing to be far more equitable as it provides a clearly defined deliverable for a clearly defined price where as hourly billing allows for significant creep in scope due to the fact that, for the most part, the metrics associated with hourly billing are approximated.

Should milestone billing not be a feasible option make sure to always ascertain the developer's best estimate in regards to projected development time.

- What in my development is Open Source?

In keep with development best practices as it relates to our open source ideology KPO Global will opt for open source technology wherever possible and encourage our clients to do the same. While proprietary technology restricts the client on multiple levels (including who is capable of working on your development) open source technology ensures maximum mobility and keeps the power where it should be, in the hands of the client.

Open source technology typically offers a significant amount of cost savings over proprietary development due to it's easy availability in the open market and it's industry standard structure which makes it more malleable for custom coding.

- What in my development is proprietary?

Where ever possible KPO Global avoids proprietary technology for all of the reasons listed above. However, should the need to use proprietary technology arise, the client will be alerted prior to deployment along with full disclosure regarding the pros and cons and associated alternatives, if any exist.

- Who owns the source code to the application?

The client. Always.
