KPO Global was honored with the opportunity of being the outsourcing arm of 1st National Bank (Arizona, Nevada and California) which was, at the time, the largest privately held bank in the United States.
Our first project with the bank was a seemingly straight forward application that, beneath the surface, carried with it a number of technical "curve balls" all of which had to be dealt with within the confines of a very strict turnaround requirement as well as a budgeting commitment KPO Global had made upon contract execution.
The application had to be built to integrate not only with the Bank's proprietary software but also with vendor systems that were of highly varied and often times antiquated code. The challenge of building a cohesive system with the latest technology that could still function in the patchwork quilt-like environment that is synonymous with banking networks was met head on through a series of "technological patches" through which our application functioned as a translator on behalf of the Bank's proprietary system. It would end up being a digital intermediary between the Bank's up-to-date platforms and the wide variety of platforms they were, out of necessity, forced to integrate with. This allowed First National Bank the unique opportunity of importing data on their terms and according to their own best practices which increased the efficiency of their system architecture as a whole.
The project was delivered on time and within budget and, to date, has required no maintenance or developmental fixes by KPO Global at all. An extraordinary feat considering the size and scope of the application. It was, if the reader will excuse our saying, literally perfect! A few weeks after the final deployment the CFO/COO of the bank wrote the project manager the following letter (re-printed with his permission):
